How to make the best talent work for the most important challenges - School for Moral Ambition
Spreker: Julia van Boven
We believe the most ambitious people should work on the most important global problems.
The School for Moral Ambition emerged from a desire to not just talk about a better world but also to take action towards one. The four founders are writer Rutger Bregman, designer Harald Dunnink, former banker Julia van Boven, and former consultant Jan-Willem van Putten.
Come explore with them how we can learn from their experience of bringing talent to the urgent transitions!

How insights can help direct the right grid extension - Data Safehouse
Spreker: Niek de Jong
To ensure that the energy transition runs smoothly, insight into tomorrow’s energy demand is required.
Close cooperation with energy consumers from Dutch industry is therefore essential for Dutch grid operators. If, as an energy supplier, they know where and at what time there is demand for which energy, they can respond to this in a timely, efficient and effective manner. The more industry and grid operators work together, the faster the transition will proceed. Data Safe House acts as a connector.

How to orchestrate the energy transition in main Ports in alignment with all stakeholders - Port of Rotterdam, Schiphol Airport
Sprekers: Dirk Jan Rebel, Douwe van der Stroom
A session with Port of Rotterdam and Schiphol Airport.
The mainports in Europe have huge ambitions to drive the transition to fossil free clusters. But how do you create a shared vision of the future energy system to support the clean transition, and how do you get all internal and external stakeholders along on the journey towards net zero?
Douwe van der Stroom of Port of Rotterdam and Dirk Jan Rebel of Schiphol Airport are sharing their experiences and would love to engage with peers from other mainports to hear about their approach to the transition.

Stop talking, start doing: Using behavioral nudges to speed up the energy transition!
The energy transition isn’t just about technology—it’s about people. While financial incentives are commonly used to influence behavior, achieving lasting change requires a deeper understanding of behavioral science.
In this interactive session, we explore how behavioral techniques can accelerate the energy transition. From nudging consumers to charge their EVs outside peak hours to ease grid congestion to fostering consumer adoption of home battery infrastructure, be ready to dive into real-world examples of behavior-driven change.
We’ll close with a hands-on case from Netbeheer NL: Can we design behavioral interventions that go beyond financial incentives?

EIT InnoEnergy is spearheading the way to a decarbonised Europe by 2050.
At EIT InnoEnergy, sustainability is about more than lowering emissions. True sustainability also means an industry that’s commercially viable, endlessly innovative, and highly competitive. We make this possible by supporting sustainable energy innovations which provide industry with risk free, pioneering new technologies that reduce energy costs, increase system performance, decrease greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, create jobs, and increase competitiveness.

Rethinking Grid Capacity: TenneT invites partners to join a coalition of the willing
Sprekers: Valerie van der Wal (Tennet), Han Stegeman (Tennet), René Pruijssers (TNW)
In order to decrease the limitations of our existing capacity and meet customer demands in the energy transition, TenneT aims to strengthen the collaboration between TSO’s en DSO’s on a regional level. We propose to develop and implement a joint innovation menu of proven solutions together, adjusted to local grid capacity. Inviting innovation managers to think along and join the coalition of the willing to create an adaptive and futureproof energy system, in which supply and demand are balanced and we reduce grid congestion together.

AI * Energy - Launching an collective talent program for the Energy Transition
Sprekers: Annelotte Hofland, John Harinck, Claire Groosman
AI can have a big positive impact on the acceleration of the energy transition, but finding enough AI talent is a challenge. With a new Trainee Program, we want to funnel over 150 of the best AI talents in the Netherlands into the energy market in the next 5 years. To..
… influx the energy market with more talent
… improve sector AI know how
… spread AI knowledge
nlmtd, BIT, NL AI Coalitie & Topsector Energie will launch this initiative together. The talent will grow and learn together, spread their knowledge to other parts of the energy market and stick to the sector long after their traineeship.

The Future of Operational Technology
Operational Technology (OT) constitutes the backbone of modern industries and infrastructure, controlling and monitoring processes in manufacturing, energy, transportation, and utilities. Enabling companies to face major challenges of today. Concurrently, OT faces constant cybersecurity threats. Compelling OT organisation to address new vulnerabilities and risks. In our roundtable discussion with OT experts, we share best practices and explore key topics to organize for success. And aim to understand how we can learn from one another.

Taking control of Smart Assets -We all agree on grid congestion issues, but why is so little being done? - Utilus
Sprekers: Rolf Bonninga, Tobias Kuipers
As the energy transition will increase the amount of electrical power needed by 500%, grid management companies are scrambling to increase capacity through new cables and substations. At the same time, the continuous decentralisation of energy production and the increasing usage of less controllable sources like solar and wind, result in a very complex system of supply and demand. Using conventional, analogue control mechanisms, a large portion of the network needs to be reserved for safety margins. This leads to the strange paradox that on the one hand most of the grid’s capacity is not used most of the time, while on the other hand there is no capacity available for new or increased connections.
The current (national) energy market/trade infrastructure is too coarse grained to solve this problem.
Our experiences and simulations with software defined supply and demand management show that the grid capacity can be increased significantly if we allow software to run it.
Join us for insights and for a lively discussion on how to make this possible given current or future regulations.
