Founder nlmtd Denmark
I build corporate innovation capabilities. I know how to break down silos, connect industry with startups, foster agile culture, balance innovation portfolios, design operating models for innovation, and apply novel practices. I have a 25-year history in telco, video games, publishing, education, integrated facility management, and outsourcing. I has also been on the board of a dozen startups.
My talent
I bring extraordinary results from ordinary circumstances. My core belief is that action is more important than thinking, and therefore I spend most of my time as a consultant taking my clients by the hand to make new things happen – connecting strategies with culture, building internal and external ecosystems, and designing validated learning loops through systematic experimentation. I believe transformation and innovation are the flip-sides of same coin. In short, I take pride in delivering lasting postive change to create impact, always keeping the human condition of corporate innovation front and center.
My education
M.Sc. in Computer Science
MBA in Innovation Management
People and organizations that inspire me
I am basically an innovation geek and therefore I’ve been inspired by an array of classical thinkers on how organisations can systematically reinvent themselves and become future proof: Peter Drucker, Clayton Christensen, and Joseph Shumpeter. In most recent years, I have learned a lot from the lean innovation/strategy movement by people like Rita McGrath, Stave Blank, and Tendayi Viki. On a more philosophical note, I often revisit the empiricist movement’s major figures such as John Locke, David Hume, and George Berkeley.
Many organisations inspire me, especially those who have managed to pivot away from an unsustainable business model – it takes courage to disengage with a profitable business area. Those are companies such as Ørsted and Unilever. But mostly I am in awe when looking that the immense value creation in startup companies who understand how to break the old rules to create positive impact.
What I like to do in my spare time
I have kids, so that pretty much fills my leisure time, although I do get around to photography (perfect blend of art and tech), restoring 8-bit computers back to life (great throwback to the 80s), and of course cooking (my go-to for meditative time). I also travel to see total solar eclipses, which means I pretty much know my holiday schedule for the rest of my life.
This track kicks off my weekend
Beethoven’s late string quartets.
