Jan-Paul is an experienced, outcome-oriented leader with a passion for clarifying complex issues. He has extensive experience in strategy formulation, execution, and business model development, from idea generation through scaling to embedding within an existing organization. He thrives in an entrepreneurial, fast-growing environment. In everything he undertakes, he is intrinsically motivated by a desire to understand, challenge the status quo, and contribute to a sustainable way of working and living. He highly values pleasant collaboration and personal contact.

People and organizations that inspire me
People/Organisations that effectively know how to challenge the status quo. For example, De Correspondent, showing that journalism can be done without advertising, or tent maker Hilleberg, which shows that there is a business model for very high-quality, very long-lasting products, but also traditional Dutch Hak, which is switching to 100% organic without making much of a fuss about it.
What I like to do in my spare time
Of course, the kids take up most of my time, and besides that, the house, vegetable garden, and picking garden always demand attention. But whenever the opportunity arises, I’m in the mountains to experience the beauty of nature and the fun of adventure with friends.
This tracks kicks off my weekend
If it were up to me, I’d listen to something by Bruce Springsteen, or, as a guilty pleasure, a quiet Rowwen Hèze song. That would immediately expose me as a white, not-so-young man. Luckily, my children manage the playlist at home and keep me updated. I also particularly enjoy the classical pieces our middle child is rehearsing for the choir she sings in.
