Gijs is an enthusiastic, positive, and results-driven consultant who helps organizations achieve impactful change. He enjoys unpacking complex issues and, together with clients, translating them into solutions that create value for both the organization and society. Gijs has extensive experience as a consultant and project manager in the energy and water sectors, focusing on (digital) transformation as well as organizational and process change. He now primarily focuses on advancing the energy transition across the entire value chain.

Master’s degree in Architecture, Urbanism and Building Sciences, specializing in Urban Design with a focus on complex inner-city challenges.

People and organizations that inspire me

People who can turn ideas into tangible, sustainable change for both the climate and society—economically and socially—are a major source of inspiration to me. Elon Musk is a frequently mentioned and widely praised example of how a single individual can have an impact on global climate change, stand firmly by their ideals, and speak their mind without hesitation (even if he sometimes goes too far).

Bjarne Ingels inspires me because, as an architect, he can translate his worldview and complex designs into the clearest forms and seemingly simple concepts.

Jane Jacobs stands out for her activism and theories on community-based urban design and bottom-up planning, empowering mixed local communities and enabling them to make valuable contributions to inner-city development.
